2009 - Chambolle Musigny La Combe d'Orveaux, Domaine Faiveley

"The highly expressive nose is ripe and airy with a cool and pure mix of plum, blue pinot fruit, cherry, stone and violets that merges into fresh, racy and equally mineral-infused medium weight flavors that culminate in a balanced, sweet and impressively persistent finish sporting plenty of energy. This is very Chambolle in character as well as beautifully transparent and the clean and dry finish seems to be built on a base of firm minerality. In sum, a classic Combe d'Orveau where the only nit is that it's not quite as complex as one might prefer, or at least not yet."
