Robert Parker's Note, Wine Advocate August 1997

"A tannic, stern, austerely-styled Sassicaia, the 1993 reveals a dark ruby/purple color, followed by attractive cassis fruit with weedy tobacco and herbs in the background. New oak is present, but not intrusive. The wine is medium-bodied, with high tannin, good acidity, and a firm, structured feel on the palate. Give it 2-3 more years of cellaring, and drink it over the following 10-15+ years. The 1993 will never be remembered as one of the great Sassicaias."

Wine Spectator Notes, Oct 31 1996

"Pretty cassis, berry and slightly herbal aromas which follow through on the palate. Medium-bodied, moderately tannic and has a light finish. A good, but not overly impressive, Sassicaia; slightly unripe nature of Cabernet Sauvignon detracts. Drink now through 2000. _"
