Wine Invest | How To Buy

1. How do we work

Because the Fine Wine market is such a fast paced market, all the wines on the website are offered subject to final confirmation of availability.

When you place an order on our website, you receive an automatic Order Acknowledgement email. Our sales team receives your order, checks that the wines you've ordered are still available in stock, then pass on your details to our Accounts department to raise the invoice.

Your order will only be confirmed once you've received our invoice by email.

2. How to pay

We only accept payment by bank transfer.

Payments are to be made on invoice, in GBP.

Please do not hesitate to contact us on +44 (0)20 7394 3790 or by email to accounts@wine-invest.co.uk should you have any particular question or query in this matter.

3. Glossary

IB: In Bond. Price of a wine ex-Duty and VAT. This price stays in Bond if the wine is stored in a bonded warehouse in the UK or sent to Export. IB wine becomes Duty Paid if this wine is delivered to a private address in the UK or EU.

DP: Duty Paid. Price of a wine including the UK wine duty. UK customers have to pay the VAT on top of the DP price wherever the wine is delivered (bonded warehouse or private address). If the wine is sent to Export, no VAT to be paid on top of the DP price.

Export: Wine delivered outside the EU. Could be IB or DP, never subject to VAT.

OWC: Original Wooden Case

En Primeur: Also called Wine Futures. Wines offered for sale before bottling in Spring following the year of harvest. The wines become physical and are released by the Chateaux 2 years after.
